FUDGE RECIPES – CHARLOTTE HINCHMAN OSELADOR

 FUDGE
 
2 cups sugar                                         1/4 tsp salt
2 squares unsweetened chocolate            1 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup milk                                             2tbsp butter
2 tbsp light corn syrup
 
Combine sugar, chocolate, milk  and corn syrup in large sauce pan and bring slowly to boil. point, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Continue cooking without stirring till 240 degrees.  Add vanilla and then butter (add nuts if desired) and put into greased pan.  Submitted by Charlotte Hinchman Oselador
 
                                                        
FUDGE CAKE
 
3 ozs chocolate . cut                                            1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup boiling water                                             1/2 cup Spry
1-1/2 cups sugar                                                   2 eggs unbeaten
3/4 tsp salt                                                            1/3 cup sour milk
3/4 tsp baking soda                                                 1 tsp vanilla
1-3/4 cups flour
 
Pour water over chocolate until melted. Put in flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt, then drop in Spry.  Beat 2 minutes, add milk, vanilla and eggs.  Beat again two minutes. Bake in 2 square pans or round – 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  Submitted by Charlotte Hinchman Oselador

 
FUDGE ICING
 
Place in saucepan.
 
2 oz chocolate finely cut
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 tbs butter
7 tbsps milk
2 tbs spry
1 tbs corn syrup
1/4 tsp salt
 
Bring slowly to a full rolling boil.  Stir constantly and boil briskly for 1 minute. Cool and add 1 tsp vanilla and beat until thick enough to spread.  Submitted by Charlotte Hinchman Oselador
