President’s Message Concerning HHS 2020 Conference

President’s Message Concerning HHS 2020 Conference

I hope and pray that this message finds all of you healthy and safe!

After much agony and thought, and the helpful feedback from many of you, the decision has been made to cancel this year’s Hinchman Heritage Society business conference/reunion scheduled for June 24-28 in Jeffersonville. I was optimistic that the COVID virus situation would be under control by our late June date, but as it got closer, there are just too many uncertainties for our family members to risk their health, or their lives. Plus, it wasn’t fair for our hosts Tony and Terry Hinchman Burns to make plans, not knowing if venues or restaurants would be open, or how many people would be able to travel and attend. Thankfully, they have volunteered to host for 2021!

Besides the work that Terry and Tony have done, I would like to thank the recent conference attendees that responded to me via phone, email or text. I heard from at least 10 different families that have recently attended that recommended waiting until next year to meet instead of in June or later in the summer or fall. Hearing from all of you also made me realize how much I miss seeing everyone!

We will be getting information out with dates for 2021. If you aren’t already friends, go to Facebook and like the Hinchman Heritage Society Group to get quick information of family news or go to the HHS Website.
Please stay careful and safe! As our pastor said in our last in-person service,” Don’t Live in Fear, but Don’t be a Dummy!”
